Gorkha:

Historic Gorkha palace is situated on the top of Gorkha town can reach with one hour uphill climbing on the stone steps. The gorakhkali temple lies on west side of the main palace. Prithvi Narayan Shah who unified the present Nepal was the king form this historic palace and it is believed that he was blessed by Gorakhnath baba (sage) on his way to unified Nepal from small kingdoms around, after some years of unification, Kathmandu valley was concurred by Gorkha king and Kathmandu become capital of whole country so Gorkha palace, Gorakhnath baba and Gorakhkali Temple become famous destination for all. We can see beautiful mountain views, Landscape, Green Hills and Villages from this place.

Gorakhnath and Gorakhkali temple – Pilgrimage tour

Gorakhnath Temple is on the hilltop of Gorkha headquarter where the historic royal palace of King Prithvi Narayan shah and Gorakhkali temple situated. Gorakhnath temple and sacred cave is just ten meter below the southern side of Palace. The cave is carved out of the solid rock and is among the most important religious sites for mainstream Brahmins and Chhetris of Nepal. It is believed that the name gorkha came with the name after Gorakhnath Baba.
